Current: UWO Bachelor of Science in Nursing, 3rd year
Why did you join Medoutreach?: Much of my time outside of school has been spent helping others in my local community. As a next step, I really wanted an opportunity to go abroad in a place such as Tanzania, where I will be challenged outside my comfort zone with respect to a new culture, language, climate and food. Here, I want to build meaningful relationships and make a contribution to their lives with the skills I have now as well as learning new ones. This will be an asset to my future nursing career, by taking my understanding and perspective of new Canadians to a higher level.
My favorite sports are basketball, swimming and football. I like playing the violin in a quartet with my sisters and at church and spending time with my family.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. – Winston Churchill
10 years in the future:
I would like to be working in an area of nursing that I am passionate in. I can see myself working as nurse practitioner and continuing to use my skills to help others around the world.
